Emergency evacuation and rescue

The working at height regulations 2005 requires management to put into place arrangements and procedures for emergency self-evacuation and rescue. Management also have a responsibility within The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulation 1999 Regulation 8, to establish and give effect to procedures to be followed in the event of serious and imminent danger to persons working in their undertakings, to nominate competent persons to implement any evacuation procedures and restrict access to danger areas. Persons will be classed as competent when trained and able to implement these procedures.
